Phil, this is just amazing insight. This may be the solution to establishing a reputation as a verifiable, resilient, and verifiable mechanism. If you haven't had this conversation with Sam Smith, I urge you to do so (reputation has been something he has talked about frequently, but he didn't have a solution that could not be undermined by bad actors inflating/deflating reputations).
The only thing I can think to add is for the option of Bob and Alice to have an "authoritative" 3rd party (e.g., relationship "notary") verify both parties and their relationship,
